Anna Coates is the WHO’s Senior Gender Technical Lead in the Director General's Office of the World Health Organization (WHO). She holds a PhD in Gender from the London School of Economics and Political Science, for which her thesis focused on indigenous women’s health in Mexico. She began her career as an academic lecturer and researcher in the U.K, Republic of Ireland, and Mexico on gender, ethnicity, health, and related research methodologies.
